Sicafe: A Family-run coffee Company with a rich history

Dating back to 1870, Sicafe has been constantly growing and innovating. We come from a long line of coffee growers and our agricultural practices have been inherited from father to son for over six generations.

Located high in the Apaneca-Ilamatepec mountain range of El Salvador, we produce, mill, export, and roast high-quality coffee. Our knowledge and expertise have been passed down through generations, and we are grateful for the support of local communities and collaborators who have contributed to our success.

Our Legacy

Working with traditional varieties and experimenting with some new ones, we have inherited all of our agricultural practices from father to son across generations.

Wet Mill

Wet Mill

In 2010, Rafael Sr. built our mill to guarantee quality, traceability, and consistency of our coffees. The Penagos depulpers we chose for our Wet Mill use eco-friendly technology and enable us to process our coffees in various ways by controlling the water system.

Drying Stages

Drying Patios

At our facility, we have designated two distinct drying patio areas. The first one is reserved for inferior quality coffees, while the second, which is our main drying patio area, is utilized to pre-dry coffee beans for a duration of 2 to 5 days. After this stage, the coffee beans are transferred to another drying stage, depending on their quality.

Mechanical Driers

We have two mechanical driers which are used for drying inferior quality coffees such as SHG's, HG's, and Green Coffee that did not ripen at the farms.

Drying Beds

We have three raised beds areas where all Gourmet quality coffees finish off their drying process. Each one of these areas was strategically created with a unique processing purpose in mind.

Dry Mill

Dry Mill

In 2012, Brazilian Pinhalense equipment was purchased to set up the dry mill and be able to have 100% control over the quality of the coffees being sent out. We wanted 100% assurance that our clients would be extremely satisfied with the results once they receive the coffees.
